For local businesses whose customers search for them
Local SEO
Dedicated city pages written for each city, structured data on every page, a Google Business Profile that stays active, and competitor defence in the map pack. The engine behind the Above All Awnings numbers.
Own the search, city by city
Local search is won one city at a time. A business in Hamilton does not rank in Burlington because of a sentence on the home page; they rank because there is a Burlington page that answers a Burlington question better than anyone else’s.
Beacon local SEO builds that page for every city and every service you want work in, then keeps the rest of the engine running so the pages have something to stand on.
What is in it
- Market map. Real search volumes, the current map pack and the competitors for every keyword-by-city pair before anything is written.
- City and service pages. Written by the pipeline with real local detail, edited and approved by a person, and expanded over time as the data shows where the demand is.
- Structured data. Business, service, FAQ and breadcrumb schema generated from one source so Google reads the site the way you intend.
- Google Business Profile. Categories and services cleaned up, posts and photos every week, review requests after every job. See Google Business Profile.
- Competitor defence. Reporting keyword-stuffed business names and fake listings that push you down the map pack. It works more often than people expect.
- Citations. Consistent name, address and phone across the directories that matter, built on logins you own.
The proof
Above All Awnings, an Ontario awning company, grew Google clicks 222% over the 2026 season (3,258 vs 1,012, May to September), moved from an average position of 29 to 13, and cut paid search visits from 2,596 to 3. Their lead sheet shows 533 website enquiries in 2026 so far. Read the case study.
Where it fits
Local SEO is the monthly engine in Full Local Growth. If the budget is not there yet, GBP Growth starts with the profile alone and moves up when the map pack is working.
Questions
How long until it works?
Expect movement in the map pack within the first two to three months and organic page movement over four to six. Above All Awnings moved from an average position of 32.6 to 11.9 between May 2025 and September 2026. We say four to six months as an expectation, never as a contract term.
What is a city page?
A page written for one service in one city, with real neighbourhoods, real local detail and the questions people in that city actually ask. Not a template with the city name swapped in. Google can tell the difference, and so can customers.
Do you build links?
Citations and local directory listings are part of every engagement. Editorial link building is quoted separately when a market needs it.
What do you report?
Leads, by source, every month. Rankings and traffic are in the report too, but the first line is always how many people called or wrote and where they came from.
